African masks are made for religious purposes from any materials available. While I cannot make a mask with the power of a true believer, I admire and understand the spirit of making religious objects from "junk" materials that are to hand. The "scars" on the masks are from weld bead; the little "bones through the nose" are small wrenches. All my "African Gods and Masks" are made from steel scrap. (PAGE 2, PAGE 3 )
